At Your Number Plates, we want our customers to have clear and fair information about returns, refunds and exchanges before placing an order.
This Refund Policy applies to purchases made through www.yournumberplates.co.uk, including number plate materials, trade supplies, blank acrylics, reflective sheets, substrates, films, raised digits, fittings, printing supplies, software and related products.
This policy does not affect your statutory rights.
Consumer and Trade Orders
Your Number Plates supplies both consumer and trade customers. Some return rights may differ depending on whether you are buying as a consumer or as a business/trade customer.
Where you are buying as a consumer, your legal rights under UK consumer law still apply.
Where you are buying as a business or trade customer, returns may be handled on a business-to-business basis, but this does not affect your rights where goods are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
Change of Mind Returns
If you are a consumer and you change your mind, you should contact us within 14 days of receiving your order.
Returned items must be unused, unopened where applicable, in their original packaging and in a resaleable condition.
Once your return has been approved, you will be given return instructions. Please do not send goods back without contacting us first.
After you have told us you wish to return an item, the goods should be returned promptly and in line with the return instructions provided.
Items That Cannot Normally Be Returned
Some items cannot normally be returned for a change of mind once supplied, unless they are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
These may include:
- Used or opened products
- Products not in resaleable condition
- Custom-made or specially ordered products
- Cut-to-size, altered or modified materials
- Software, digital downloads or licence keys once supplied, downloaded, accessed or activated
- Products damaged due to misuse, incorrect handling or incorrect storage after delivery
- Items returned without approval or outside the agreed return process
Sale or discounted items may still be returned where required by law, including where the item is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
Software and Digital Products
Number plate software, download links, digital products and licence keys are treated differently from physical goods.
Once software, a download link, digital file or licence key has been supplied, downloaded, accessed or activated, it may not be eligible for a change of mind refund unless the product is faulty or a refund is required by law.
If you experience a technical issue with software purchased from us, please contact us so we can review the issue and provide support where possible.
Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Items
If your order arrives damaged, faulty, incorrectly supplied or not as described, please contact us as soon as possible.
Please provide:
- Your order number
- A short description of the issue
- Photos of the product
- Photos of the packaging, where relevant
- Photos of any visible damage
We may offer a replacement, exchange, refund or another suitable resolution depending on the issue.
Please do not dispose of damaged goods or packaging until we have reviewed the issue, as the courier may require evidence for a claim.
Bulk and Trade Supply Orders
Bulk orders and trade supply orders may include number plate acrylics, reflectives, substrates, films, fittings, raised digits, printing supplies and other components.
For large or trade orders, please check all goods carefully when they arrive. Any shortages, damage or incorrect items should be reported to us as soon as possible after delivery.
If an order has been specially sourced, custom packed, cut, altered or supplied in a trade quantity specifically for your order, it may not be eligible for a change of mind return unless agreed by us or required by law.
How to Start a Return
To start a return, please contact us before sending anything back.
Please include:
- Your full name
- Your order number
- The item you wish to return
- The reason for the return
- Photos, if the item is damaged, faulty or incorrect
Once your return request has been reviewed, we will confirm whether the return is approved and provide return instructions.
Items sent back without approval may not be accepted.
Return Shipping Costs
If you are returning an item because it is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described, we will review the issue and confirm the appropriate return or replacement process.
If you are returning an item because you changed your mind, you may be responsible for the cost of return postage.
We recommend using a tracked delivery service when returning goods. We are not responsible for returned items that are lost or damaged in transit before they reach us.
Refund Processing
Once your returned item has been received and inspected, we will contact you to confirm whether the refund has been approved.
If approved, the refund will usually be processed back to the original payment method.
Please allow time for your bank, card provider, PayPal or payment provider to process the refund after it has been issued.
Original delivery charges may not be refunded unless the return is due to a fault, damage, incorrect supply or another issue where a refund is required by law.
Exchanges and Replacements
Where suitable, we may offer an exchange or replacement instead of a refund.
This may apply where an item is damaged in transit, faulty, incorrectly supplied or where a replacement product is available.
Replacement items will normally be sent after the issue has been reviewed and approved.
Order Cancellations
If you wish to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible.
If the order has not yet been processed or dispatched, we may be able to cancel it and issue a refund.
If the order has already been dispatched, you may need to follow the returns process once the goods arrive.
Orders for software, digital products, custom products, special order items or altered materials may not be cancellable once processing has started, unless required by law.
